The Parent Faculty Association (PFA) is an advisory and consultative board of the Saint Bonaventure Catholic School school board. All parents and teachers are members of the PFA. The PFA assists with the day-to-day operations of the school by overseeing most service positions. We support various academic programs and provide community building opportunities and events. We also provide funds for teacher appreciation and enrichment. As part of our Catholic tradition, we support some parish and community ministries. To support all these activities, the PFA holds small fundraising activities throughout the school year.
Most of the service positions in the school are overseen by the PFA. This includes our Room Mom coordinators who communicate with and advise Room Moms during the school year. They work closely with the teachers and administration during the summer in the selection of Room Moms. Our Service Program chairs provide information regarding available service positions using the following: the SBS Service Opportunity Guide, the service program webpage, Saints Connect along with periodic meetings with various program committee chairs.
Community Events supported by the PFA include: Grandparents Day, Volunteer Mass and Brunch, and Coffee Socials.
PFA fundraisers include the following: Annual Auction & Dinner Dance, Fresh Food Fridays, Barnes & Noble Fundraiser, Annual Golf Tournament and Restaurant Fundraisers.
The PFA Board meets once a month. Scheduled meetings are posted on our school calendar. Parents, Faculty and Staff suggestions, comments, and concerns are welcome in advance of the meetings and will be placed on the meeting agenda at the discretion of the PFA President, Pastor, and Principal.
PFA Board Members are selected by a parent led nominating committee and approved by the principal. If you are interested in becoming active on the PFA Board, please submit your name to the PFA Vice-President. Open positions are announced and nominations are accepted in the spring for the following school year.
