The purpose of the School Board is to support and implement the philosophy and Mission of St. Bonaventure Catholic School: "to partner with parents to provide a Catholic Christ-centered, academically excellent and safe school environment in which all children can achieve their God-given potential and make a positive difference in the world".
The School Board is actively engaged in advising and counseling in the following areas: Mission/Faith Development, Strategic Planning, Institutional Advancement, Finance, Technology, Marketing/Communications, Safety and Facilities, Curriculum, Wellness, and any other purpose as the School Board deems necessary to promote the Mission of St. Bonaventure Catholic School. School Board members are volunteers appointed by the Principal and Pastor.
There are Subcommittees within the School Board which are made up of parents, faculty, and staff working together to fully realize the St. Bonaventure Catholic School Mission. These are not appointed volunteer positions. All are welcome. The Subcommittees include:
The School Board and Subcommittees are consultative/advisory in nature. All Subcommittees have a Chairperson that serves as the School Board liaison. The role and function of the School Board and Subcommittees is to review, make recommendations, offer feedback, and assist and support Administration in whatever way is deemed necessary and appropriate by Administration. All decision-making responsibility rests with the Principal and Pastor.
The School Board meets the second Monday of every other month at 6:00 p.m. in the School Library. The meeting dates for the 2019-2020 school year are as follows:
Parents, Faculty and Staff suggestions, comments and concerns are welcome in advance of the meetings and will be placed on the meeting agenda at the discretion of the School Board President, Pastor, and Principal. All SBS Community members may attend open sessions of School Board meetings and/or contact the School Board via email at: sboard@stbonaventureschool.org . Meeting agendas and minutes are available on the SBS website. Please note, there may be times when matters designated by the Pastor or Principal as confidential will be discussed in closed sessions with attendance limited to School Board members only. We appreciate your positive, productive, and constructive contributions in working to enhance and foster the Mission of our Catholic School.
