Our program ensures the holistic development of each child, merging academic excellence with Christ-centered values. Join our vibrant community and empower your child to become a transformative force for good in the world.
-
Faith & Family
SBS develops each students' faith through daily prayer, religious education, and participation in sacraments. Christ-centered teachings are integrated into all aspects of the curriculum and students are encouraged to live out their faith through community service and moral decision-making.
-
Student Life
At SBS, strong academics meet a foundation of moral core values. With dedicated faculty, enriching athletics, exciting field trips, and a nurturing community, we foster student leadership through activities like our student council leading daily morning prayers and the Pledge of Allegiance.
-
Community Engagement
SBS builds a warm welcoming community that is joyfully felt by all. Buddy families, daily prayer opportunities, coffee socials, classroom volunteering and community events, help create a sense of belonging for both the parents and students alike. This joyful atmosphere is evident in the smiles, laughter, and positive interactions that fill our halls, making SBS not just a school, but a vibrant, caring community.

A Legacy of Excellence
For nearly 60 years, SBS has been a cornerstone of Huntington Beach, founded by the Presentation Sisters. Today we honor their legacy through spreading Christ’s light not only in words but deeds. Our students strive to exemplify this kindness and are recognized throughout the school year with the HALOS awards and the revered 8th grade Nano Nagle Award. With over 3,000 alumni, SBS continues to be a force for good in the world.

Events
SBS hosts numerous events that foster community spirit and support our mission:
SBS Golf Classic 2024: Raised $25,900 for tuition assistance
St. Bonaventure Church Our Lady of LaVang Eucharistic Procession: Celebrating our faith
Drama Club Production of Peter Pan: Featuring a new Tech Team learning audio/visual skills, recently highlighted in OC Catholic
Service Projects
Our students actively engage in service projects, from 8th graders planting gardens, 4th graders knitting newborn baby beanies to Kindergarteners creating homeless care packages. SBS not only fosters a love of service but also a respect for all those that serve others through educational awareness and specific events such as Vocations Day, Career Day, Veterans Day and the annual 8th grade trip to our nation’s capital, Washington D.C. A few examples include…
Care Packages for the Homeless: Students gathered donations to create care packages to donate to the homeless shelter. These baskets included various hygiene items, basic writing supplies, and snacks.
Toy Donations for Homeless Shelter: Students created a marketing campaign through the church and school asking for toy donations. They actively attended events and gathered toys for homeless children.
Beach Clean Up: Students participated in cleaning the beach and encouraged friends and family to come help support them for a couple of hours. They successfully cleaned up ¼ of a mile of sand.
Arlington National Cemetery: Each year SBS students have the privilege to show honor & respect by laying a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at this somber and poignant ceremony.
Presentation Sisters Mass - SBS honors our founding order, the Presentation Sisters of the Blessed Virgin Mary, with a beautiful dedicated Mass in November and each grade participates in various activities to show love and admiration for their commitment to serving God and our school.
